Sales and the 'Talent Magnet'

A lot is written about being a ‘Talent Magnet’, either as a company, or as President. It’s all good practice – listen, mentor, reward, provide clear goals and career maps. Good practice for the employer, but what about the employee?

Choosing the right partners in information technology and systems is a decisive factor for the success of organizations. In the case of Banks that intend to initiate operations in emerging countries, and/or in developing countries, but with important and significant economic growth indices, having an information technology and systems partner that ensures adequate support regarding the requirements of the country and the Institution in question (regulations, market characteristics, etc.), is an even more critical factor for success.

To have knowledge of the reality of such markets, experience and solutions that support banking operations in an efficient manner, including the necessary flexibility to provide services of excellence to the Financial Institutions of the countries in question, with a functional and technologically advanced and updated product, may be the guarantee that many Banks seek.

It is precisely for this reason that more than 30 Financial Institutions have confirmed Promosoft as the technological partner for the Portuguese-speaking African Countries.

A story of success

Founded in 1988, Promosoft was born from the need for Portugal to address the modernization challenges of the banking sector.

In 1992, the internationalization process of the Banka core system solution of Promosoft was initiated, with the first implementation in a Portuguese-speaking African country. Since the start of this process, the Promosoft solutions, and more specifically the Banka core system, have supported the activity of our client Banks, and in various business models (Commercial Banking - Individuals and Companies; Investment Banking; Private Banking and Corporate Banking), guaranteeing the correct and adequate support to banking operations and regulatory and reporting requirements, namely those relative to obligations required by the official entities of each country, but also those related with regulated international standards.

From 1995 to present day, Promosoft has increased its number of clients in a consistent and regular manner. To date, the Banka core system has been implemented in more than 50 Banks operating in three continents and seven countries: Angola; Portugal; Mozambique; Cape Verde; São Tomé and Príncipe; East Timor; and Malta.

The 51 banks that are clients of the Banka core system solution of Promosoft are physically represented via approximately 2,000 branches, distributed throughout seven countries, managing more than 4 million clients and 13 million accounts, which translates into a daily movement of banking operations in the order of 10 million transactions/day.

Promosoft in Portuguese-speaking African Countries

Being a market with high growth indices, with specific business characteristics and features, but also with high standards in terms of operations and profitability, reliability, efficiency and effectiveness is required from technological solutions, in conjunction with a high level of parameterization, configuration and adaptation to the needs of each Institution. Capabilities of the technological partners selected are also expected, so as to enable implementations in record time, as well as investments and support costs adequate to the reality of each country and Institution.

Over the last few years, the Banka core system has consistently proven its suitability to the markets in which Promosoft is active. The success achieved in the Portuguese-speaking African countries, proves in itself the adequacy of the Banka core system to the needs and requirements of the countries and Institutions in question.

Promosoft's capability to implement the Banka core system in Portuguese-speaking African countries meets the needs and requirements for implementation in record time. The average deadline for configuration, implementation and stabilization for the Banka core system, in new Banks, is 4 months, with a 100% success rate in project implementation.

The suitability of investments and support costs, given the reality and characteristics of the countries and Institutions, also contributes to the success of the Banka core system and Promosoft in Portuguese-speaking African countries.

The investments undertaken and in progress, relative to the evolution of the Banka core system, the platforms for distribution and customer service channels, and the management information system, complemented by greater diversification and complementarity of the services of excellence provided by Promosoft, guarantee the continuity of the success achieved to date.
